Ibadan Central Boss, Olamitoye Donates Multimillion Naira Hall To Oyo NUJ, Marks 66th Birthday

Monday, 22nd of May, 2023, will continue to remain indelible in the memories of members of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Oyo State Council when the chairman of Ibadan Central Hospital and Academy Suite Hotels, Dr. Abib Olamitoye, commissioned the multimillion-naira journalists hub he donated to the pen pushers at the NUJ Press Centre, Iyaganku Gra, Ibadan.

However, he charged journalists with self-development, saying that it is a major factor in success and fulfilment in life.

He stated this in Ibadan during the commissioning of the hall, which he donated to the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Oyo State Council.

Olamitoye, a medical doctor and businessman who is 66, noted that self-development is the best.

He said, “I have come here today as a friend of journalists. The donation of this hall has expressed a brief history of my life to reinforce the fact that any journalist can move from any position to the peak and achieve the best version of their life.

Olamitoye continued, “The path to follow is the renewal of mind everyday. Once the vision of where you want to go has been established, it can be achieved.

“I encourage you all to engage in self-development as it is the best”, he said.

While also charging journalists on prosperity, Olamitoye who is a writer and author urged them to be reading relevant books as he donated books.

Dr. Abib also thanked the union for appreciating his contributions to the society, promising to do more for the union and humanity.

Earlier in his remarks, the NUJ Chairman, Com. Ademola Babalola, acknowledged Olamitoye’s service to humanity, which he said has done so much for the union.

He described the Ondo-born as “a man of many parts” who had continuously built people.

According to him, “Our benefactor is not from Oyo state, but he is committed to the growth and development of this state.

“Dr Abib Olamitoye is a man that is so passionate about humanity; a man of timber and calibre, a man God has been using for this generation, a man of many parts, a teacher, a trainer, an author and wonderful personality”.

Babalola said that Olamitoye is internationally recognized and has impacted many lives.

From NUJ Press Center, all union members and dignitaries present at the event, followed the Celebrant to Olubadan Hall of Academy Suites, Old Ife Road, Ibadan. to celebrate his birthday.

At the reception, the opening prayer was said by Pastor Wole Oyeyemi followed by the introduction of guests to the high table, coordinated by the master of the ceremony at the occasion, Yanju Adegbite.

Thereafter, the welcome address by the Celebrant, Dr. Abib Olamitoye was followed by chairman’s remarks by the Chairman of the occasion who is also the deputy vice-chancellor, of academics, University of Ibadan, Prof. Ronke Bayeroju and a response by the chief medical officer, UCH, Professor Jesse Abiodun Otegbayo represented by Dr Peter Amoo.

In goodwill messages, dignitaries present at the occasion showered encomiums on Dr Abib Olamitoye for his contributions to the development of University College Hospital, health and humanity. At the same time, the General Manager of the hospital, Dr. (Mrs) Olajumoke Caxton-Martins, used the vote of thanks.
