THE 41st non-elective Annual General Meeting (AGM)of the National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) would be an historic point stage for situating and setting plan that will address the present issues shaking the aviation, tourism and travel industry in Nigeria.

NANTA president, Mr Bankole Bernard, who made this know in a press briefing in Lagos, together with the AGM panel, said the event which would hold at the Sheraton Hotel in Lagos on March 21, 2017, would show prominent industry masters from the public and private sectors.

As indicated by Bernard, “the AGM which will be looking into Tourism in a recessed economy: The way forward is aimed at orientating all and sundry on exploring tourism as a low hanging fruits a this time we are struggling to come out of recession.

He said the AGM has turned out to be basic in light of the fact that NANTA has turned into an applicable voice in the aviation business.

Bernard noted that the closure of the Abuja air terminal is an open door in mask for his individuals to investigate the undiscovered tourism potentials within the zone.

He expressed that NANTA has recorded a ton of visible achievement within his one year as the president of the body, including demonstrable skill for the individuals who are no longer observed as touts, yet as experts.

On the issue of a large portion of the outside aircrafts not going to Kaduna due to the conclusion of Abuja air terminal, he said a portion of the carriers may have a reexamine when Abuja airplane terminal is at long last shut.

In her discourse, the first Deputy President of NANTA and Chairperson of the AGM sorting out board of trustees, Mrs Susan Akporiaye revealed that the event will be graced by former president Olusegun Obasanjo; Information and Culture Minister, Alhaji Lai Mohammed; the Minister of State for Aviation; Senator Hadi Sirika; Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi Ojaja II; the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Tourism and Hospitality (NIHOTOUR), Mrs. Chika Balogun, among other dignitaries.

Akporiaye included that the keynote speakers for AGM are the previous Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Dr Harold Demuren, who will be speaking on the government aspect of aviation and how things are run, while the Chief Executive Officer of Med-View Airline, Alhaji Muneer Bankole, will anchor the private sector angle as a practical player and owner of Med-View Airline.
