The news brought immediate joy to the families who spent six agonizing weeks waiting for updates. In an official statement, the monarch highlighted how the breakthrough restores peace of mind to everyday citizens. Residents of Oyo State can now sleep easier knowing their children are back.

Oba Alao made it clear that cooperation between different levels of government was the key factor in defeating the criminal networks.

“By working together at the federal and state levels along with local government officials and traditional rulers, this successful security campaign shows that working together, Nigeria is strong enough to defeat terrorists, bandits and other evil agents in the society.”

Honoring Oyo State Security Forces

The rescue mission required extreme sacrifice from the teams on the ground. The monarch expressed deep gratitude to the tactical units that faced direct danger to pull the victims out of captivity.

“I commend President Tinubu and Governor Makinde for choosing the hard but right way to tackle the problem. Theirs was a demonstration of strong leadership at the time it was rightly needed. They have demonstrated how good leadership can restore hope and inspire patriotism.”

The traditional ruler also paid tribute to those who fell during the operation.

“My sincere appreciation also goes to all the security forces who worked together, and risked their lives to rescue the abductees. Some of them paid the supreme prize in the course of this national assignment. May God repose their souls and comfort their families.”

Future Safeguards for Oyo State Security

Moving forward, local leaders want to ensure these vulnerabilities are permanently closed. Oba Alao urged people living in rural and border areas to stay alert and flag strange movements immediately. He concluded by calling on the government to reinforce local surveillance networks to ensure a similar crisis never hits the community again.
