Oyo Assembly Constitutes 24 Standing Committees

The Oyo State House of Assembly has announced the names of members of all its 24 standing committees for the 10th Assembly.

The Oyo Assembly Speaker, Hon. Adebo Ogundoyin made the announcement on Thursday during plenary.

The Speaker said that the composition of the House Standing Committees means that the 10th Oyo State House of Assembly is poised to function fully.

According to the list, the Finance, Appropriation and State Economic Planning Committee has Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola and Hon.Gbenga Oyekola as its Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively while other members are Hon. Salami, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, Hon. Michael, Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman and Hon. Modiu Akande.

Security and Strategy Committee has Hon. Olalere and Hon. Jimoh as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively while other members include Hon. Oluwafowokanmi, Hon. Ogundare, Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman, Hon. Akintunde Olajide and Hon. Rasak Mabaje.

Hon. Akintunde Olajide is the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Local Government, Chieftaincy Matters and State Honors and his Vice is Hon. Bamidele Adeola. Other members are Hon. Onaolapo, Hon. Owolabi, Hon. Rasak Mabaje, Hon. Oparinde and Hon. Peter Ojedokun.

The Committee on Solid Minerals Development is chaired by Hon. Ogunsola while Hon. Akande is the Vice Chairman. Hon. Salami, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Hon. Rilwanu Saminu, Hon. Shittu and Hon. Abiola are members of the Committee.

For the Committee on Special Duties, the Deputy Speaker, Hon. Muhammed Fadeyi and Hon. Sanjo Onaolapo are the Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. Other members are Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Hon. Babajide Gabriel, Hon. Peter Ojedokun and Hon. Kehinde.

The Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Education (Basic & Secondary) Committee are Hon. Ogundele and Hon. Oluwafowokanmi respectively. Members are Hon. Sanjo Onaolapo, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Hon. Jimoh, Hon. Babalola and Hon. Omikunle.

Hon. Oluwafowokanmi is the Chairman of Tertiary Institutions, Science and Technology Standing Committee while Hon. Rasak Mabaje is the Vice Chairman of the Committee. Hon. Sanjo Onaolapo, Hon. Abiola, Hon. Waheed Akintayo, Hon. Akande and Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman are members of the Committee.

For the Women Affairs and Community Development Standing Committee, Hon. Mrs. Olajide is the Chairman while the Vice Chairman is Hon. Rilwanu Saminu. Members of the Committee are Hon. Michael, Hon. Shittu, Hon. Azeez, Hon. Akintunde Olajide and Hon. Olalere.

The Speaker of the Oyo Assembly announced Hon. Ogundare and Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman as the Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively for Public Petitions, Justice and Judiciary Standing Committee. Members include Hon. Sunkanmi Babalola, Hon. Olusola Owolabi, Hon. Bamidele Adeola, Hon. Ogunsola and Hon. Jimoh.

Public Works Standing Committee has Hon. Kehinde as Chairman and Hon. Mrs Michael as Vice Chairman. Its members are Hon. Salami, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Hon. Akande, Hon. Babajide Adebayo and Hon. Oluwafowokanmi.

Hon. Jimoh is Chairman House Standing Committee on Employment, Labour, Productivity and Pensions while Hon. Kehinde is the Vice Chairman. Hon. Omikunle, Hon. Oluwafowokanmi, Hon. Ogunsola, Hon. Ogundele and Hon. Rasak Mabaje are members of the Committee.

Lands, Housing and Survey have Hon. Bamidele Adeola and Hon. Owolabi as Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively while Hon. Sanjo Onaolapo, Hon. Babajide Gabriel, Hon. Omikunle, Hon. Mrs. Olajide and Hon. Kehinde are Committee members.

The Chairman of the Culture and Tourism Committee is Hon. Mrs. Michael while Hon. Waheed Akintayo is the Vice Chairman of the Committee. Members are Hon. Mrs Olajide, Hon. Oparinde, Hon. Shittu, Hon. Azeez and Hon. Rilwanu Saminu.

Hon. Peter Ojedokun chairs the Agriculture and Rural Development Committee while Hon. Ogundare is the Vice Chairman. Hon. Jimoh, Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Hon. Mrs Olajide, Hon. Olalere and Hon. Rilwanu Saminu are members of the Committee.

For Commerce and Cooperatives, Hon. Rasak Mabaje and Hon. Mrs Olajide are Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively. Others are Hon. Sanjo Onaolapo, Hon. Abiola, Hon. Azeez, Hon. Owolabi and Hon. Ogundele.

The Youth and Sports Standing Committee is headed by Hon. Yusuf Adebisi while Hon. Shittu is his Vice. The remaining members are Hon. Babalola, Hon. Oparinde, Hon. Akande, Hon. Abiola and Hon. Babalola.

Hon. Rilwanu Saminu chairs Health Standing Committee while Hon. Babalola is the Vice Chairman. Hon. Olalere, Hon. Mrs Olajide, Hon. Ogundare, Hon. Omikunle and Hon. Ogunsola are members.

The Committee on Environment, Water Resources and Ecology is headed by Hon. Owolabi, the Vice Chairman is Hon. Ogunsola while other members are Hon. Babalola, Hon. Gbenga Oyekola, Hon. Babalola, Hon.Babajide Adebayo and Hon. Abiola.

For the Public, Private Partnership and Investment Monitoring Committee, Hon. Omikunle and Babajide Adebayo are the Chairman and Vice Chairman respectively while Hon. Olajide, Hon. Bamidele Adeola, Hon. Owolabi, Hon. Kehinde and Hon. Akande are members.

Hon. Abiola heads the establishment, Training and Poverty Alleviation Standing Committee while Hon. Azeez is the Vice Chairman. Members are Hon. Jimoh, Hon. Ojedokun, Hon. Bamidele Adeola, Hon. Olalere and Hon. Oluwafowokanmi.

Hon. Akande is the Chairman of the House Standing Committee on Foreign Relations and his colleague Hon. Waheed Akintayo is the Vice Chairman. The members include Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Hon. Jimoh, Hon. Mrs Olajide, Hon. Mrs Michael and Hon. Babalola.

Hon. Oparinde heads Energy Committee while he has Hon. Babajide Adebayo as his Vice. Hon. Yusuf Adebisi, Hon. Akintayo, Hon. Azeez. Hon. Ogundare and Hon. Shittu are members of the Committee.

The Chairman of Transport Committee is Hon. Babalola while his Vice is Hon. Yusuf Adebisi. Members include Hon. Babajide Adebayo, Hon. Kehinde, Hon. Rasak Mabaje, Hon. Olorunpoto Rahman and Hon. Ogunsola.
