VICE President Yemi Osinbajo said it is the church that holds the destiny of the nation.

Osinbajo, who said this on Sunday in his goodwill mesaage at the Upsurge Conference of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA), Abuja, explaining that that “it is what is taught in church, it the what the pulpit is saying that determines the fate of a nation.”

The Vice President described the teachings of the guest minister, Bishop T.D. Jakes as transformational, capable of transforming the nation, while emphasising the place of diligence in recording success in life.

He noted that life itself cannot be lived by miracle alone, saying “there’s a place of work, diligence and creativity. He noted that what is being preached in most churches is as if life itself can be lived by miracle alone, that you don’t need to put in much in work, “but the reality is thay true success is about lines upon lines, precepts upon precepts, doing upon doing, character, diligence and creativity.”He noted that what is being preached in most churches is as if life itself can be lived by miracle alone, that you don’t need to put in much in work, “but the reality is thay true success is about lines upon lines, precepts upon precepts, doing upon doing, character, diligence and creativity… and somebody has to teach that. That is what the church is known for. It is the church that transform the nation everywhere.

“The Scripture says, God made us in His own image, and then He commanded us to go and be productive, be fruitful and multiply. That creativity That God commanded us to perform is what would change our nation. So, if we obey God our country will change.”

He then admonised that “It doesn’t matter how you started or where you started from, your obedience to God, the value you add and the creativity you bring will cause a change. Creativity is the added value that makes the difference.”

Earlier in his sermon, titled “Hand Out or Hand Up” drawing references from Act 3:1-10, Bishop Jakes admonished the congregation to stop coping with what is not working, what is not changing, like the the Biblical man lame from his mother’s, who was being laid daily at the gate of the temple called Beautiful.
