Ambassadors Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, the most famous twins in African tourism and initiators of twin tourism, are set to stage the maiden edition of the Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo (ITTE) 2024 in the ancient city of Ibadan.

The Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo, scheduled for April 22nd and 23rd, 2024, will also feature the 10th anniversary of quality tourism broadcasting of their popular weekly travel and tourism magazine radio show, “Travel with the Twins.”

According to the release by the Oguntoye Twin brothers, “ITTE 2024 is a 2-day international travel roadshow platform that aims to drive the sustainable tourism sector by bringing together buyers, consumers, airlines, travel techs, tourism and travel service providers, the hospitality value chain, influencers, and the media to review, network, and discuss sustainable tourism development and trade in the travel industry.

The Ibadan-born tourism twins, who are the first twins in the world to be honoured by the world’s busiest and most travelled international airport, Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, USA, further stated that “The Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo is set to unplug the largest city in Sub-Saharan Africa for a tourism kickstart and open up the abundance of tourism opportunities to the untapped markets in Oyo State and South Western Nigeria for international and domestic buyers and sellers.”

ITTE 2024, with the theme “Tourism Kickstart: Maximising Tourism Opportunities for Sustainable Development in Nigeria,” is expected to welcome about 3000 attendees over two (2) days and will feature activities such as the Tourism Roundtable, the Premier Tourism Awards/Dinner, the 10th Anniversary of the Travel with the Twins Radio Show, the Young Professional Forum, and the Fam City Tour.

Oguntoye Twins, however, stated that “ITTE is privately driven, with sponsorship and partnership options available in different categories with different negotiable costs as terms and conditions apply to all. Sponsorship at the Ibadan Tourism Expo 2024 can bring your company into direct alignment with the innovators, change agents, major stakeholders, and visionaries within the tourism industry. Strengthen your company’s market share, build organisational awareness, and influence industry viewpoints as a sponsor.”

The first twins in Africa to jointly host a travel and tourism programme on radio while reiterating the journey of their radio show, the world-respected Oguntoye Twins said that “Travel with the Twins” started in 2014 at the prestigious University of Ibadan Radio Station, Diamond 101.1 FM. It was later moved to Impact Business Radio IBR 92.5 FM before settling down over the years with Lagelu 96.7 FM, where it currently broadcasts its tourism show to the world.

“Over the years, we have done tourism live broadcasts from the United States of America, the People’s Republic of China, South Africa, Kenya, Uganda, and Ghana, among others, and have projected destinations, preached healthy environmental practices and sustainable travel, and promoted professionalism. We are set to expose and open up the untapped Ibadan tourism market to the world.”

The release concluded that “Ibadan Travel and Tourism Expo 2024” speakers, venues, logo, official website, and strategic partners and sponsors will be unveiled soon.
