As part of activities lined up to mark this year’s World Post Day Celebration, the Nigerian Postal Service (NIPOST) is launching new products that will change the face of postal service in the country.
The products include the repackaging of the almost-extinct postal and money orders to be available online for the use of the public.
This is in its renewed efforts at bringing the postal service in line with the best global practices, and taking advantage of the ICT era.
According to its General Manager (Corporate Communications), Mr Franklin Alao, these products, alongside others, are slated to be launched at the event, signalling many events lined up by the organisation to relaunch itself back into the public consciousness.
Nigeria is a member of the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the world postal body that sets aside every October 9th as World Post Day for its members to review postal activities in each country in the last year with a view to celebrate milestones achieved and setting new objectives and strategies for enhanced postal services.
The World Post Day celebration is replicated in towns and cities across the country.
