Tejumola Tejuoso, the mother of late four-year-old Adeoti Tejuoso has narrated how her daughter got drown in a stream in Lagos during a family cleansing tradition.

Tejumola, who hails from Ibeshe town in the Amuwo Odofin Local Government of Lagos State told our reporter that the family elders (Tejuoso family) had told every member of the family that the family deity had instructed that there was a need to compulsorily cleanse all children within the family lineage.

According to her, this has always been the custom from time to time for decades.

The cleansing involves bathing the children with some herbal soap in a stream and making incisions on certain parts of their body with an ancient blade believed to have been spiritually fortified and which had been used on other children in the past without being sterilised.

Tejumola said that it was this cleansing that the family traditionalists were performing on her daughter at a stream in Ikorodu in the early hours of today when her daughter got drown.
