ANNUAL memorial lecture of the former Premier of Western Region, Samuel Ladoke Akintola, has been scheduled to hold on Thursday January 12 in Lagos State.

The commemorative events which will hold at Afe Babalola Auditorium, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Lagos will also featured official launching of Ladoke Akintola Foundation and the presentation of award to distinguish personalities.

According to the release, signed by the chairman planning committee, Mr  Adedokun Adeyemi, the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, and  Professor Ralph A. Akinfeleye of the Department of Mass Communication, UNILAG, will deliver key note address at the event.

Recipients of the award include, General Ibrahim Babangida, Former Military Head of State; Akinwumi Ambode, Lagos State governor; Rauf Aregbesola, Osun State, and Senator Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State.

Others are, Professor Akinjide Osuntokun, Professor OBC Nwolise, Senator Ayoade Adeseun, Mr Raji Adewale, Director Oodua investment limited,  Mr Bamiji Ojo, former Director NCC Ibadan, Punch Newspaper Ahmadu Bello foundation and  late chief   Ladiji Abidemi Gbadamosi former president ogbomoso parapo.

The release disclosed that President Muhamadu Buhari is the special guest of honour, while Dr Yomi Finnih is the chairman of the occasion and Chief Chris Ogunbanjo is the father of the day. Ambassador Yomi Akintola and Dr. Abimbola Akintola are the chief hosts.

Traditional rulers expected to grace the occasions are: Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Abubakar Sa’adu; Oba Rildwan Babatunde Osuolale Aremu; Akiolu Oba of Lagos; Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife; Alhaji  Sanusi Lamido Sanusi; Emir of Kano; Oba  Olayiwola Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo; Oba Sikiru Adetona, Awujale of Ijebuland; Oba Saliu Adetunji, Oubadan of Ibadan; Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Ajagunbade 111, Soun of Ogbomoso, and Oba Mufutau Oloyede Gbadamosi, Olofa of Offa, among others.
