AGAIN, the Federal Government has changed the Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation (NTDC), appointing the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Federal Ministry of Water Resources, Dr. Paul Adalikwu, to head the corporation.

Adalikwu, who was seconded to the corporation, would be the third Acting Director-General appointed by the Federal Government after the former NTDC boss, Mrs. Sally Mbanefo, was removed November 30, 2017.

Recall that the corporation’s Director of Administration and Supply, Mr. Borniface Eboka, was the first acting DG appointed to head the corporation after the removal of Mrs. Mbanefo. He headed the corporation between November 30 2016 and December 28 2016.

After him was Mrs. Mariel Rae-Omoh, who was until her appointment, the Director, Hospitality Travel and Trade of the corporation, on December 28 2016. She served in the acting alacrity until March 10th, 2017 (today).

According to a close source to the ministry, who pleaded anonymity, “the ministry carried out an investigation and discovered that they made a mistake and they could not reverse it. A former DG of the corporation, Otunba Olusegun Runsewe, was also invited to make some clarification during the investigation.”
