THE Anambra state Police Command has said that the Aide-De-Camp (ADC) the Anambra state governor, Chief Willie Obiano was invited to the command headquarters for proper briefing on how to discharge his duties in line with the electoral laws.

The Police Public Relations Officer of the state, Princess Nkeiru Nwode who made the clarification on Wednesday in a press briefing at the command headquarters in Amawbia, said the security personnel had since been redeployed back to his principal.

She said the clarification became necessary in view of the misconception making rounds in the social media over the removal of the security details of the governor.

“The ADC was never removed neither was he redeployed.

He was only recalled for proper briefing on how to effectively discharge his duties according to the law to avoid electoral offenses,” she said.

Governor Obiano, had on Tuesday, during at a stakeholders’ meeting with all the 37 governorship candidates, raised alarm over the withdrawal of his security details, an action he said exposed his life to danger.
