OYO State Governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, described Dr. Abdulfatai Buhari, Senator representing Oyo North Senatorial District, as the best senator in Oyo State.

Ajimobi, who lauded the patriotic and developmental drive of the Senator, at the second Senator Buhari Abdulfatai Empowerment Programme, held on Tuesday, at the National Youth Service Corps camp in Iseyin, Oyo State, said: “I won’t be wrong to say Senator Buhari is the best Senator in Oyo State. Oke, who led the party executives from both state and local government to the event, said: “The party appreciates Senator Buhari’s milk of kindness and urge the beneficiaries to make good use of the materials.”

Senator Buhari earlier in his speech implored his constituents to keep faith with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari.

His words: “We are not unmindful of the myriad of challenges facing the country at this moment, I want to implore you all to keep faith with the government of President Muhammadu Buhari and our great party, All Progressives Congress (APC). We will not let you down. All our campaign promises will be met and we shall move the country to a greater height.

“We sincerely acknowledge and appreciate your patience, steadfastness, understanding and support. I want to repeat, this government is determined and working assiduously to rebuild every sector of the country and make life meaningful for the citizenry. The situation we met on ground was worse than what we expected.”

He also informed the gathering that efforts are being made to facilitate infrastructural development, and other projects that will bring economic development to the state, and the Senatorial District.

Senator Buhari said work is on going in putting Ikere Gorge Dam in proper shape, rehabilitating Iseyin–Oyo road, Ogbomoso-Oyo road, establishment of University of Agriculture and Technology in Oke Ogun, among others.

The beneficiaries of the empowerment programme, including traditional rulers, artisan, students, widows, religion organizations and communities were drawn from the 13 local government area of the Senatorial District.

Items distributed included 36 cars, 300 motorcycles, 300 sewing machines, over 400 grinding machines, 40 deep freezers, generators and 13 electric transformers.

The senator also distributed a N20,000 each as bursary award to 200 students of tertiary institution and N25,000 each to 200 widows, carefully selected across the Senatorial District.
