ONE of the leading gubernatorial aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has called on all men of goodwill to speak with one voice and condemn the uncontrolled massacre of innocent Nigerians.

In a statement issued by the Seyi Makinde Organisation and signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said that politics must be set aside and all Nigerians must ask ourselves why we are so helpless watching the tons of innocent blood being spilled in unimaginable proportion.

Referring specifically to last Saturday killings in Plateau State during which over 150 people were alleged to have been killed, Makinde said the patience of Nigerians is at breaking point and government must not abdicate it’s responsibility to all Nigerians.

The statement said that Makinde is worried that with the growing audacity with which the massacre is being carried out, no part of Nigeria is safe from these blood thirsty elements and called on the people of oyo state to be watchful while the state government must only embark on policies that will enhance the protection of our people at all times.

Engr Seyi Makinde said he was disappointed that the oyo state government’s official position was in support of the federal government decision to create cattle ranches in the state ,saying that he supports the stand of the Oke Ogun Council of Elders (OCE) who believes that the idea of cattle ranches is not in the best interest of our people.

He reiterated that it saddens the heart that a government that came into power with high expectations that it will make protection of life and property its priority has failed to decimate Boko Haram but has also allowed festering of tribal war due to her refusal to apprehend and bring the perpetrators to justice. He said enough is enough of killing and maiming of our people.
