GUBERNATORIAL aspirant under the Peoplesles Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State Engnr Seyi Makinde has paid a solidarity visit to the Fresh 105.9FM Station which was demolished early this morning by the Oyo State government.

In a statement issued by the Seyi Makinde organisation and signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said he had to personally visit the station to confirm the incident because he believed that no government under civilian rule could contemplate not to talk of actually bulldozing a popular Radio station under flimsy excuse.

Engr Makinde who met the chairman of the radio station, Dr Yinka Ayefele said that his visit was beyond politics as the sad development endangers freedom of speech which is the rock upon which true Democracy is built.

Walking through the ruins of the station amidst wild jubilation from thousands of people who thronged the station in sympathy and disbelief, Makinde said that what the state government did was selective justice, sparing hundreds of structures to target the radio Station out of sheer vendetta.
