EKIFEST 2019 To Showcase Ekiti Values – Ojo-Lanre

THE 2019 edition of the Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture, tagged “EKIFEST 2019” is targeted at showcasing the value of Ekiti people through emancipation from mere dance to empowerment, revenue generation, and to drive investors to the State.

The Director-General, Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, Mr Wale Ojo-Lanre stated this during the inauguration of the EKIFEST 2019 technical committee in Ado-Ekiti.

Performing the official inauguration, Ojo-Lanre posited that the festival would be designed in accordance with acceptable global standard, noting that the terms of reference of the comweretee were to define the content of the festival and steer the course for the best Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture 2019, among others.

In his submission, the Chairman of the technical committee, Professor Bakare Ojo Rasaki said the Festival was not only capable of drawing tourists but would equally attract investors and ultimately increase the internally generated revenue of the State.

A member of the technical committee and an actress of repute, Mrs Peju Ogunmola opines that the festival promises to offer a lot, saying there is much to be expected in terms of value re-orientation and Cultural rejuvenation with regards to Ekiti State.

The annual Cultural fiesta with the technical committee members drawn from culture arts, and entertainment industry among others with varieties such as carnival, symposium, traditional sports/games, command performance, traditional cuisine, exhibitions among others are scheduled to hold later in December this year.
