A section of the popular Balogun market on Lagos Island is reportedly on fire again.

This happened barely two months after a policeman and several goods valued at millions of Naira went up in flames at the market.

The raging inferno was said to have started in the early hours of Wednesday, January 29, 2020.

The fire outbreak is reported to have started from Anambra Plaza on Martins street in the market.

Eyewitnesses disclosed that the fire has spread to about five structures.

Firefighters are currently on scene to put out the fire, while traders are in a serious panic to remove some of the goods through the windows of the high-rise buildings.

The cause of the incident is yet to be ascertained at the time of filing this report.

Traders in the market and other residents of the area have called on the Lagos State Emergency Agency (LASEMA) and other government agencies to come to their aid.
