Ondo Deputy Governor Hon Agboola Ajayi, who on Sunday dumped the ruling All Progressive Congress (APC) said he will not resign from office.
Hon Ajayi emphasised that he remains the Deputy Governor of the state, though he has resigned from the APC, explaining that he was duly elected and voters have not told him to resign his position.
Hon. Ajaji who spoke on Sunday after he joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at his Apoi Ward 2 , Ese Odo Local Government Area of the state also disclosed that some bigwigs of the APC will soon join the PDP.
Ajayi, who said that everybody knew why he left the APC, explained that he listened to the advice from all his supporters across the state the Ese Odo Local Government, adding that they will continue to witness peace and progress
The Ondo State Deputy Governor noted that it is a painful thing that he was leaving the APC “but there is time for everything.”
He said as a Nigerian he has the fundamental freedom to belong to any party or group, adding that what would happen in the state “is going to be like a tsunami as many bigwigs in the APC will be joining the PDP in a matter of days.”
He then described the action of the Commissioner of Police, Bolaji Salami at the Government House as a show of shame, adding that the Police Commissioner turned himself to a useful tool in the hands of desperate politicians.
He noted that the attitude of the Commissioner of Police showed that Nigeria was not ripe for state police.
