The Onikun of Ikun Amure-Ekiti, Oba Olusola Olatunde, has described the Governor of Ekiti State, Dr John Kayode Fayemi, as a man whose life ambition is to develop and add value to humanity.
“I must confess to the fact that Governor Fayemi is a thoroughbred humanist whose activities and acts as a governor are geared toward the development of this state and upliftment of humanity. He is a God-fearing human being whose development initiatives in the town are legendry. Such a man is an inestimable asset both for the state and the nation.”
Oba Olatunde pointed out that “For me and my people in Ikun Amure-Ekiti, Governor Fayemi has remained the best political personality whose footprints of development in the town will ever remain indelible.”
Oba Olatunde made this observation when he played host to the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Tourism Development, Ambassador Wale Ojo-Lanre in his palace on Saturday.
Ambassador Ojo-Lanre who led an investor, Agboola Olufemi and a team of Team Ekiti Tourism Development on a sightseeing tour of Ero Dam paid a courtesy visit to Oba Olatunde said that the visit to the palace was necessitated to fulfil a normal process of paying homage to who is due.
He described Oba Olatunde and the people of Ikun Amure-Ekiti as a lovely bunch of good people who are not ingrate monsters having acknowledged and appreciate the good work of Governor Kayode Fayemi in Ekiti State, Oba Olatunde disclosed that Ikun town and the indigenes are grateful to Governor Fayemi who is turning Ikun town to a destination of purpose and relevance by his stride at revamping the Ikun Dairy Farms and the development of Ero Dam as a domestic project as well as a tourism resort.
He revealed that Ikun is safe and secure for investors and tourists, adding that his people have done well at making Ikun Ekiti the safest town in Nigeria where theft and pilfering are anathemas and a town where it is a taboo for animals to roam the streets.
Oba Olatunde, who prayed for and congratulated Ambassador Ojo-Lanre, said that he has been following the activities of the SSA right from the time he was appointed Director-General, Council for Arts and Culture. He added that he has proved to be a worthy Ambassador of Ekiti.
He applauded the Team Ekiti Tourism Development who visited him which include, Mr Rotimi Awelewa, Mr Ojo Olabanji Olorunbukunmi, Mrs Jumoke Oluropo Owoola, Commissioner 2 in Ekiti TESCOM, Mrs Tola Ajayi Odoko, Jeremiah Okonjo, Gideon Samuel and Hon Johnson Olatunde.
