A 16-year-old boy (names withheld) has been arrested by policemen in Ogun State Police Command for allegedly stealing 14 pieces of underwear from a woman.
The suspect was arrested after the woman, identified as Amudalat Opaleye, a resident of Kano Street, Ayetoro, reported at Ayetoro police station.
She told the police that at about 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, the suspect sneaked into her room and stole her undies. She added that he was caught while trying to sneak out with the underwear.
“When the report was made, the Divisional Police Officer, Ayetoro, CSP Mobolaji Jimoh detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.
“A search warrant was executed at his residence, and another 14 pieces of used woman underwear were recovered there.
“He has confessed to the commission of the crime but claimed that he was sent by someone to get those undies,” the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi stated.
The PPRO said that efforts were on to get the indicted suspected accomplice arrested.
He added that the state Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun had directed that the suspect be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
