Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered that the extradited leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, be detained until 26 July 2021 for the continuation of trial.
The Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Mr Abubakar Malami (SAN), had today, disclosed that Kanu was arrested by the Federal Government.
The minister said Kanu was arrested and brought back to Nigeria on Sunday, adding that the arrest followed a collaborative effort between security agencies in Nigeria and Interpol.
Malami further disclosed that Kanu would be taken before the Federal High Court, Abuja, for the continuation of his trial on charges bordering on terrorism, treasonable felony, unlawful possession of firearms and management of an unlawful society.
