Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, will lead prominent Nigerians to Ibadan, on Saturday, for the wedding ceremony of the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Debo Ogundoyin.
Ogundoyin will be tying the nuptial knot with Olamidun, the daughter of the Bada of Egbaland, Dr. Femi Majekodunmi and Honourable Justice Tokunbo Majekodunmi.
Others expected to grace the white wedding at All Souls’ Anglican Church, Bodija and reception at the Polo Club, Eleyele, include Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State, other governors, Speakers of various Houses of Assembly, political leaders and captains of industry.
The Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, is also expected to lead other traditional rulers from Egbaland to the ceremony.
It was learnt that few days ago the Ogundoyin family from Eruwa, were in Abeokuta, to meet the Baasegun of Ibadanland family, for an introduction ceremony attended by friends and some members of the Governor Makinde-led administration.
It was also reliably gathered that the two prominent families are not leaving any stone unturned and are neck-deep in preparation to make the ceremony a huge success and also make the wedding a colourful and mind-blowing one that would become a yardstick to measure a good social event.
“The wedding ceremony is expected to be the most amazing, most colourful, most spectacular in the social circle for a long time,’’ a source said.
Ogundoyin, a graduate of Babcock University, Ilisan-Remo, became a member of the Oyo State House of Assembly representing Ibarapa East after he won the by-election, following the death of the former Speaker, Michael Adeyemo, on April 27, 2018.
Olamidun on her part is a business development professional and experienced entrepreneur with a demonstrated history of building startups and managing strategic initiatives, particularly in the education and performing arts industries.
