The National President of Independent Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Chief (Dr.) Kolawole Adewoyin has urged members of the association and other stakeholders to disregard the selection of Alhaji Debo Ahmed as the new National President of the association.

Chief Adewoyin in a press statement described the selection of Alhaji Debo Ahmed by Engineer Sanusi Abdu Fari as a joke of the century and which cannot stand the test of time.

According to him: “How can a person removed by a court of law as the National President of IPMAN select his deputy already affected by the judgment of the High Court sitting in Ibadan to succeed him as the President?. They asked the court for a stay of execution over the judgment but were denied. And yet these people continue to parade themselves as National executives of IPMAN. Their attempt to rubbish the country’s judicial system will fail again.

“The action of Engineer Sanusi Abdu Fari to select his deputy, Debo Ahmed to succeed him is not only laughable but illegal. The judgment of the High Court is still intact and the current national executive of IPMAN headed by me (Chief (Dr) Kolawole Adewoyin has not finished our tenure. So what is Sanusi Abdul Fari trying to achieve by selecting his deputy to succeed him?.”

The IPMAN national executive under me uses this medium to call on Minister of State on Petroleum, Chief Timipre Sylva, Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, the Director-General of State Security Service, Yusuf Magaji Bichi, members of IPMAN, NARTO, NUPENG, IMB, PTD of NUPENG and other key players not to recognise Alhaji Debo Ahmed as the IPMAN National President. His selection by already removed National President, Engineer Sanusi Abdu Fari is illegal and there is a judgment to that effect.”
