Interim Super Eagles Head Coach, Augustine Eguavoen, has assured Nigerians his team will continue to work hard like they’ve always done, as the team prepares for their round of 16 clash with Tunisia.
Super Eagles of Nigeria set up a Round of 16 clash with Carthage Eagles of Tunisia who fell to Gambia on Thursday night.
The 2004 African champions booked their spot in the knockout phase of the competition as one of the four third-placed teams after a shock 1-0 defeat to the Gambia on Thursday evening.
Head Coach Augustine Eguavoen reiterated on Friday that the Nigeria camp will take nothing for granted as they go in full throttle against Tunisia on Sunday night.
“Congratulations to our team, we’ve qualified, now it’s clear we’re playing Tunisia another North African strong team, we will continue to work hard like we’ve always done, same approach, same determination, tactics might differ a little bit, so we are ready, yesterday we did a little bit of recovery training, so today we’ll start working on how we will approach Tunisia’s game”, he said.
Tunisia and Nigeria have met four times in the history of the competition, albeit, it is the Super Eagles who hold the upper hand.
The encounter holds on Sunday at the Roumde Adjia Stadium in Garoua with the winner facing either Gabon or Burkina Faso in the quarter-final.
