The Federal Government of Nigeria has approved a new entry level for nursing graduates into the Nigerian public service.

This was disclosed in a memo by the Office of the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, a copy of which was obtained by our correspondent on Wednesday.

The memo with reference no: HCSF/SPSO/ODD/NCE/CND.100/S.8/72/S.8/72 was signed by the Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Dr. Folashade Yemi-Esan.

The memo read in part, “The National Council on Establishments at its 43rd Meeting held from January 24 to January 28, 2022 at Abuja, FCT, approved the entry grade level for nursing officers into the Nigerian Public Service from SGL 09 to SGL 10 with effect from January 28, 2022.

“To qualify for the nursing officers cadre, the candidate must have undertaken: five years of undergraduate studies for the award of B.Sc. Nursing; one-year Post-Graduation Internship; one-year National Youth Service Scheme; and Nursing and Midwifery Council-registered and license to practise.”
