Hon. Chukwudi Ezeala, popularly known as Olorunwa, vying to represent Ibadan South West/North West Federal Constituency under the aegis of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), has called for the need to embrace good governance as a tool to liberate the general populace in the face of hunger, poverty, and insecurity.

Olorunwa, at a press conference in Ibadan on Wednesday, revealed that the assurance of a workable and secure society, an accountable democracy, and a transparent government are the core values of his political engagement in Ibadan.

“It is important to note that good governance is a mirage in the political history of Nigeria, and our eyes are not blind to the alarmingly high rate of insecurity, inflation and corruption that bedevils our society. The level at which people are suffering is alarming, despite the willingness to work with reasonable or logical engagement.

“We are sure that posterity will judge those persons involved in the destruction of our noble society, and we are determined to rescue Nigeria starting from our spheres of influence as grassroots politicians attending to the needs of the people in respect to daily existence.

He also noted, “The lack of good governance has rubbished the image of the country, and the philosophy of APGA is to change the narratives of leadership as a call to serve in the best interest of the people truly. The level of corruption in the country at different sectors reflects that the society at large needs serious social re-engineering.

“We are very sure that the gap between the people and the government is larger than imagination; the call to have an inclusive government is my primary focus by generating awareness in people about government programmes and policies to meet the needs and demands of the society in the face of growth, development and security.
