The General Overseer of the popular Divine Seed of God Chapel Ministries, Ibadan, Prophet Moses Wale Olagunju, was featured during the week on Parrot Xtra/Ayekooto On Radio, anchored by Olayinka Agboola and broadcast live on Splash 105.5fm. During the interaction, the man of God, who claimed to have not had a bath for almost 21 years and had no intimate relationship with his wife, revealed the causes of Nigeria’s problems and why some pastors are involved in fraudulent activities… Excerpts:
How easy is it to serve God?
It becomes easier when you have a genuine call from God, as His support makes all things possible. When I received the divine instruction from God to separate myself for a special assignment, I was not obstinate about it. For with God, all things are possible. Formerly, I used to take my bath in the morning and at night because of the heat, but when I heeded the divine instruction not to take my bath, it became very easy for me, and I have not had a bath for close to 21 years now. I have also not moved close to my wife.
Churches and mosques are growing in our society, but so are corruption and other vices. What do you think is happening, sir?
Poverty plays a significant role in the proliferation of churches in Nigeria today. It’s difficult to determine who was truly called by God and who claimed to be for selfish reasons. We now have numerous pastors who entered ministerial work due to poverty and unemployment. This phenomenon has led to an increase in the number of thieves and fraudsters in today’s churches. We now have thieves and con artists masquerading as pastors in many of our churches today. When someone calls himself a prophet and cajoles members of his church to buy him a car or asks them to empty their accounts in the name of giving an offering, what do we call such pastors? Are they not also indulging in the fraud known as ‘Yahoo Yahoo’? Church members are also engaging in fraud to appease the so-called men of God; all these are reasons why indiscipline is increasing in our society today.
So, how do you normally raise offerings and funds in your church, sir?
I only rely on members who contribute willingly and joyfully. We do not compel them to pay tithes, in contrast to the current trend where our pastors prioritise tithing and offerings over the issue of salvation. Such an arrangement is not right. A true Christian must know that it is his/her duty to pay tithes without being forced.
You once prophesied that Nigerians would face hardship. What is the way out?
The nation is facing the reality of increasing famine and hardship. I have foretold it, and it is still happening; it will continue to grow. Part of the situation, which our people do not understand, is that Nigeria has been destroyed. If any politician promises to salvage the country’s situation, such a person is a liar. Even if one of Bola Tinubu, Atiku Abubakar, or Peter Obi wins the presidential election, none of them will be able to salvage the country from its current predicament. The state of affairs is irreparably damaged. The only solution to Nigeria’s problem is restructuring.
You were also quoted in some newspapers as saying something about Governor Seyi Makinde’s second term in office.
I fasted for Governor Seyi Makinde for 45 days and nights until he emerged as the governor of Oyo State. Some of his government officials are aware of this, but they don’t care. I can mention Senator Hosea Agboola, Niyi Farinto and others.
As early as 2009, I predicted that Engr. Seyi Makinde would become the Governor of Oyo State. I have all the prophecies written in a document. Even when he joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP), I was one of the people who encouraged him to do so; likewise, when he joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before eventually emerging as the governor.
God revealed to me things that would unfold in His administration, but they refused to take my message seriously. He will not return for a second term.
Ha, is it because he did not give you his attention, sir?
No. The prophecy is based on what God said, not because of what His government did to me.
Many of our politicians swear by the Holy Quran and the Bible, yet corruption persists. Why?
As Christians, the Bible does not support swearing. God said our ‘yes’ should always be our ‘yes’ and our ‘no’ should equally be our ‘no’. God knew that man is liable to errors, which is why He did not support swearing an oath with the Bible. Most people simply go through the Bible without it having any meaning to them, but whoever wants to make Heaven should always know that their ‘yes’ must be ‘yes’ and their ‘no’ must be ‘no’.
You also prophesied that prominent kings would die in Oyo State in 2022? Has the prophecy come to pass?
When God reveals a vision to an individual, it is not to frighten but to warn the person involved to be watchful and prayerful. However, many people believe that the moment a prophet releases a prophecy, they are only after popularity and wealth. I do not release prophecy to frighten people or to gather wealth.
I have also stated that some principalities are hindering this country’s progress. I will not mention them, for they are aware of themselves, but very soon they will pass away.
It is only God who can restore Nigeria’s fortunes; no man can do it. If any politician says that he can do it, tell the person that he is a liar. How can he restore the destruction? The price of fuel has risen to N190 per litre; can he bring the price down to N30? We only need God’s intervention for Nigeria to be restored.
Let’s consider the ASUU and Federal Government brouhaha: the FG stated that it needs billions to settle the matter, but where will it obtain such a huge amount of money from? Ultimately, we all recognise that corruption is a significant issue in our country.
What advice would you offer to Nigerian politicians?
Our politicians should allow the fear of God to be in their hearts so that God can lead this country Himself. If politicians fear God, the country will be peaceful and prosperous. Even their followers can pose a problem; when a leader decides to govern well, some may attempt to undermine their efforts.
