European football delivered an exciting night of action on Friday, November 6, 2026, as Hamburger SV, Toulouse and Venezia recorded important victories in the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A respectively.

Hamburger SV defeated Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1 in Germany, Toulouse overcame Strasbourg by the same scoreline in France, while Venezia claimed a hard-fought 2-1 victory over Udinese in Italy.

The three results provided significant talking points across Europe’s major leagues, with impressive individual performances, crucial goals and important points at stake.

Bundesliga: Hamburger SV Beat Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1

Hamburger SV produced an impressive performance to defeat Borussia Mönchengladbach 3-1 at the Volksparkstadion, taking advantage of a second-half red card to secure all three points.

Hamburg started brightly and opened the scoring in the 11th minute through Miro Muheim, whose powerful long-range effort found the bottom corner after being set up by Albert Sambi Lokonga.

However, Borussia Mönchengladbach responded before half-time. Joe Scally restored parity in the 44th minute, sending both teams into the break level at 1-1.

The contest changed significantly shortly after the restart when Gladbach defender Kō Itakura received his second yellow card in the 49th minute, leaving the visitors with ten players.

Hamburg capitalised on their numerical advantage in the 60th minute when Shafiq Nandja restored the hosts’ lead following an excellent pass from Albert Grønbæk.

Grønbæk then produced one of the night’s standout moments, scoring a spectacular long-range effort in the 70th minute to complete the 3-1 victory.

The result provided an important boost for Hamburg, while Borussia Mönchengladbach were left frustrated after another disappointing league performance.

League 1: Toulouse Dominate Strasbourg in 3-1 Victory

In France, Toulouse secured an impressive 3-1 home victory over Strasbourg in their Ligue 1 Matchday 10 encounter.

The hosts eventually broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time when Santiago Hidalgo found the back of the net in the 45th+1 minute.

Toulouse carried their momentum into the second half and doubled their advantage through Mark McKenzie in the 56th minute.

Strasbourg attempted to fight their way back into the contest when Giovanni Reyna scored in the 67th minute, reducing the deficit to 2-1.

However, Toulouse quickly restored their two-goal advantage.

Thomas Jørgensen delivered the decisive blow in the 76th minute, finding the net to make it 3-1 and effectively end Strasbourg’s hopes of recovering a point.

The final whistle confirmed a convincing home victory for Toulouse, with Hidalgo, McKenzie and Jørgensen all getting on the scoresheet.

For Strasbourg, Reyna’s goal proved insufficient as the visitors left Toulouse without a point.

Serie A: Venezia Defeat Udinese 2-1 in Relegation Battle

Meanwhile, Venezia claimed a crucial 2-1 victory over Udinese at the Stadio Pier Luigi Penzo in an important Serie A Matchday 11 encounter.

The result was particularly significant because both clubs were battling near the bottom of the league table, making the three points extremely valuable.

After a goalless first half, Venezia broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute through Toma Bašić, who finished from close range following a delivery from Antoine Hainaut.

Udinese responded almost immediately, drawing level in the 57th minute through an unfortunate own goal by Matías Moreno.

The equaliser gave the visitors renewed hope, but Venezia refused to surrender their advantage.

Kike Pérez produced a moment of individual brilliance in the 65th minute, unleashing a superb left-footed strike into the top corner to restore Venezia’s lead.

Udinese pushed for another equaliser during the closing stages, but Venezia successfully protected their advantage until the final whistle.

The victory ended Venezia’s run of three consecutive league defeats without scoring and lifted them above Udinese in the standings.

Udinese, meanwhile, remained at the bottom of the Serie A table with five points following another disappointing result.

Three Victories, Three Important Statements

The three matches highlighted the competitive nature of European football, with Hamburg, Toulouse and Venezia all securing valuable victories.

Hamburger SV demonstrated their ability to capitalise on numerical superiority, Toulouse showcased their attacking quality against Strasbourg, while Venezia delivered an important performance in their battle to move away from the relegation zone.

With the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A campaigns continuing, all three victories could provide important momentum for the winning teams.

European football continues to deliver exciting moments, and supporters will be watching closely to see whether these clubs can build on their latest performances.
