On Friday, the Governing Council of the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, appointed Prof. Folasade Ogunsola as the 60-year-old institution’s first female vice-chancellor.
The 13th vice-chancellor is expected to succeed Prof. Oluwatoyin Ogundipe, whose tenure will end on November 11, 2022.
Ogunsola beat 10 professors to become the new vice-chancellor.
She was Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development and Services) under the outgoing VC for two terms.
Ogunsola, 64, was also the former Provost. She is also an alumnus of UNILAG.
