APC Professionals Council Set To Train, Empower 5000 Youths In Skills Acquisition In Oyo

The All Progressives Congress (APC) Professionals Council, Oyo State chapter, has concluded all arrangements to organise vocational training/empowerment and tuition-free scholarship programmes for at least 5,000 unemployed youths in the state.

The beneficiaries, who will be drawn from all 33 local government areas in Oyo State, will undergo a four-day training programme at the Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, Moor Plantation, Ibadan, between Tuesday 25th and Friday 28th October 2022.

While speaking on the preparation for the programme, the Oyo State Coordinator of the council, Dr Bamidele Gold, said the professionals’ council, which is a support group of the APC in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and in collaboration with Federal College of Animal Health and Production Technology, organised the said empowerment programme for the youths especially the unemployed ones to make them self-reliant.

He added that the training will cover areas such as soap making, fish farming, digital marketing, intensive solar, inverter installation, organic soap making, crop farming, poultry, animal husbandry, cake baking, piggery, etc.

Also speaking, the state Woman Leader of the group, Hon. Mrs Ojewale Simiat,, advised the women to take advantage of the skill acquisition programme provided by the group to promote their welfare and develop themselves.

Dignitaries expected at the programme include the National Director-General of the Professionals Council, Dr Seyi Bamgbade, Engr. Rauf Olaniyan, former Deputy Governor of Oyo State; Mrs Florence Ajimobi, former First Lady of Oyo State; Senator Teslim Folarin, APC gubernatorial candidate in Oyo State; all three senatorial candidates; 14 House of Representatives candidates; and 32 state House of Assembly candidates, among others.
