At the age of nine, students are usually enrolled in middle school, with high school quite far away. However, a student in the US has surpassed that level at the age of nine. After graduating from high school at nine years old, a Pennsylvania youngster has set a record.
David Balogun, a Mensa member, has always been fascinated by science and computer programming. This devotion has now made him one of the world’s youngest high school graduates, due to some expedited online classes.
He has now enrolled at a community college and has begun accumulating credits toward his college degree. After finishing the curriculum in third grade, he officially became Reach Cyber Charter School’s youngest graduate.
The nine-year-old child prodigy told Fox43, “I realized that I [was] able to graduate at the age of ten or nine as long as I put the effort in, and with the help of my mom, dad, and, of course, Reach Cyber Charter School, I was able to graduate.
He also added, “I wanted to do it because I had the ability to do it. So why not use those abilities for the greater good? I want to be an astrophysicist and study black holes and supernovas.
He wants to become an astronomer
David stated at a news conference that he wanted to be an astronomer and investigate black holes and supernovas. His parents, Henry and Ronya, said their son was ‘very curious about knowing things.
David’s insatiable curiosity, according to Henry, “equipped him” for scholastic achievement.
In his spare time, the nine-year-old, who is also the recipient of the 2022 Distinguished Student Award from the Pennsylvania Association of Gifted Education, participates in a variety of activities.
He enjoys baseball, karate, and spending time with his sister. He has not yet received his official high school diploma. It will take place in June.
He is now concentrating on his studies as a Mensa member and student at Bucks County Community College.
Other than David, Michael Kearney holds the Guinness World Record for the youngest high school graduation. Kearney set the record when he was six years old, in 1990.
At the age of 18, he earned a master’s degree.
Wow! What an incredible start to becoming an astrophysicist and exploring the world!
Quite an achievement toward Being an achiever is your strength.
