The Oyo State resident electoral commissioner, Dr. Adeniran Tella, affirmed his commitment to ensuring a free and fair election during the forthcoming general elections.

He made this commitment at a recent media briefing at the Agodi state headquarters of the Independent National Electoral Commission in Ibadan.

While advising the people of Oyo State to participate actively and exercise their franchise in the coming elections, he also spoke on the decongestion of some point units to less populated polling units for ease of voting exercise.

While regretting the inconvenience, he advised the affected eligible voters to check their new status ahead of the presidential election scheduled for the 25th of February, 2023.

In his address, Dr. Tella sought the support of the media for the success of the general elections, given the importance of the media in informing and educating the electorates on the essence of active citizen engagement.
