The results of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria have started trickling in with great surprises.
For instance, Nigeria’s third force candidate Peter Obi, who contested on the platform of the Labour Party, has won Lagos State, beating the influential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu on his home turf, according to results announced from the state’s collation centre. Obi’s win came as a surprise as the state is a stronghold of Tinubu, who was expected to easily win the state.
Here are the results for the four leading parties in the election – All Progressive Congress (APC), Labour Party (LP), New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), and the peoples Democratic Party (PDP) – as declared by the National Independence Electoral Commission (INEC).
