On Friday, 24th of March, 2023, all roads leading to Isara Remo in Ogun State were congested as Apagun Adebiyi Adeleye, the former Special Assistant on Political Matters to the Executive Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, buried his mother-in-law, Madam Alice Olumuyiwa Awobona, in a grand style.
The funeral service was held at the Living Faith Church, Winners Chapel, Isara Remo, Ogun State, and followed by thanksgiving.
The corpse was then laid to rest at the deceased’s residence, Ode Remo Road, Isara Remo, Ogun State, where the Pastor performed dust to dust in charge of the Living Faith Church.
The children of the deceased who spoke to REPORTERS AT LARGE said their mother would be greatly missed with encomiums on her good deeds.
Following this, everyone in attendance proceeded to the Afotamodi Hall, a well-known event venue in the town, for the reception. The venue was packed with influential political figures, such as Tokunbo Talabi, secretary to the State Government of Ogun State; state commissioners; honourable members; local government chairmen; special advisers; prominent members of society; and a host of others, all in honour of Apagun Adeniyi Adeleye and the Awobona family.
Dignitaries described Mama as a gentle, easygoing woman who loved her children and lived a good life. They similarly commended the All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain and former Special Adviser on Political Matters to Governor Abiodun, Apagun (Sir) Adebiyi Adeleye, for the befitting burial given to his mother-in-law.
Also, dignitaries at the occasion hailed the award-winning and renowned caterer, Mrs Eunice Olaseeke Adeoye, Ripples boss, for the good food, excellent service, and good presentation of her staff to guests at the ceremony.
Ambassador Oluomo Ade Omo Ade anchored the event, and the popular late Apala singer Haruna Ishola’s son, Wasiu Haruna Ishola, supplied good music.
