Oyo State governor, ‘Seyi Makinde and the Senator representing Oyo South, Sharafadeen Alli, extolled the virtues and the developmental contributions of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr Mohood Lekan Balogun, to Ibadanland, on his 81st birthday.

The governor, who described the monarch as a great royal father and beacon of hope for the continued prosperity of Ibadanland, prayed to God to grant him more years on the throne of his forbears.

According to Governor Makinde, in a release signed by Sulaimon Olanrewaju, his Chief Press Secretary, Olubadan Balogun’s reign has coincided with the era of great transformations and massive developments being brought to bear on the state by his administration.

“I congratulate our father, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Dr Mohood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, on his 81st birthday.

“Your Imperial Majesty, your reign has ushered in tremendous developments.

“Kabiyesi, we celebrate your eventful life and pray to God to grant you good health and more years on the throne of your forbears.”

Sen. Sharafadeen Alli in a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media, Akeem Abas, and made available to newsmen on Wednesday in Ibadan, described the traditional ruler as a great leader who has worked tirelessly to ensure that the Ibadan community remained a force to be reckoned with in Nigeria.

The lawmaker commended the monarch for promoting peace, unity, and progress in Ibadan, saying his leadership has inspired many.

He said that the traditional ruler had set a remarkable standard for other traditional rulers in the country to follow.

Alli called on Nigerians to emulate the exemplary life of the monarch in their daily dealings.

The lawmaker prayed that God would bless Balogun with more years of good health and wisdom.

Alli urged all Ibadan indigenous people to support the monarch to ensure the city remained prosperous and peaceful.
