Barrister Wale Ojo-Lanre resumed his duties as the Director-General of the Ekiti State Bureau of Tourism Development on Tuesday after collecting his appointment letter at the office of the Secretary to the State Government.
On October 26, 2023, the Ekiti State Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji, approved the appointment of Barr. Ojo-Lanre as the Director-General of the state’s Bureau of Tourism Development.

In the last administration, the Usi-Ekiti-born international journalist, lawyer, and tourism promoter served as Director-General of the Bureau of Ekiti State Art and Culture and Senior Special Assistant to Governor Kayode Fayemi on Tourism Development.
On his Facebook page, Ojo Lanre announced his resumption: “Today, the 2nd day of November, I filed an engagement document in Ekiti State as the Director-General, Bureau of Tourism Development. I am grateful for this recognition by His Excellency, Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, to serve my state in this capacity.”

During the last administration, the tourism aficionado Ojo-Lanre initiated ideas and events that further projected Ekiti State as a preferred tourism destination.
Earlier, Ojo-Lanre visited the state’s Commissioner for Information, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, and Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Tosin Aluko-Ajisafe, and discussed the need for synergy between their offices and tourism development in the state. He was accompanied by Amb Taiwo and Kehinde Oguntoye, the famous twins in African tourism; Remi Oladoye, the publisher of National Insight; Olaoluwa Mimiola of REPORTERS AT LARGE; and his Technical Adviser, Mr. Abiodun Dada.
