The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), Ogun II Command, has discovered four beverage factories operating illegally in the Ota area of the state.
This was disclosed by the Customs Area Controller for the Command, Comptroller Olusola Alade, on Thursday at a press briefing while giving the Command’s record of achievements for the last quarter of the year 2024.
He named the illegal beverage manufacturing companies in Ota to include Evita Moore, Lekan Industries, Scarlet Eagle Ltd, and IBK Ventures.
The Comptroller stated that the Command generated over N4.335 billion within 30 days in the first month of 2025.
“It is also important to note that the successes recorded in our revenue in the Commands could be attributed to good motivation from the Nigeria Customs Service Management, which has boosted the morale of officers and has always kept them in high spirits.”
“Aggressive stakeholders’ engagement by the Customs Area Controller (CAC), including visits and parleys with all security/government agencies in Ogun State.
“At this period, its essential to recognize the effort of the Comptroller General of Customs in the implementation of policies and agenda of the federal government and in motivating the officers and men of the command in monitoring industrial productions and collecting Excise Duties,” he said.
He assured Ogun II Command of NCS that, under his watch, it would continue to “dialogue, engage, and educate the stakeholders and the local business communities on our corporate goals: revenue generation and trade facilitation via excise and free trade zone operations.
“We shall maintain success through consistent synergy with other sister agencies while discharging our statutory responsibilities of enforcing compliance with government fiscal policies.”
