The international image of Kogi State received a major boost as Hajia Bilkisu Abdulsalam-Ogueyi, the Chairman of the Kogi State Hotels and Tourism Board, continues to make remarkable impressions at a global tourism and investment conference initiated by the Government of the People’s Republic of China.

In a strategic move to foster international collaboration and investment in the tourism sector, the Chinese Government carefully selected delegates from across the world to participate in the prestigious seminar on Innovation and Development of cultural trade by Developing Countries, organized by the Academy of International Business Officials (AIBO), Ministry of Commerce, People’s Republic of China.

Out of the five tourism experts and government representatives across Nigeria’s 36 states, only one state—Kogi—earned a place on the global stage, represented by none other than Hajia Bilqis Abdul.

Her selection signified a high-level endorsement of Kogi State’s tourism potential and reaffirmed her status as a trailblazer in Nigeria’s tourism diplomacy. As the sole state delegate from Nigeria, Hajia Bilkisu Abdulsalam-Ogueyi has demonstrated a masterclass in state representation and strategic engagement.

Her presentation at the conference on the tourism and investment opportunities in Kogi State was both classical in delivery and captivating in substance. It drew the attention of major global stakeholders, including Chinese investors, who expressed a strong interest in exploring Kogi State as a tourism and hospitality investment destination.

Her participation has elevated the profile of Kogi State, making it the center of attention not only among conference attendees but also within diplomatic and government circles in China.

The conference, which is still ongoing, has effectively turned the spotlight on Kogi State as a beacon of tourism development and international cooperation. Through Hajia Bilqis Abdul’s sterling efforts, Kogi has emerged as a participant and the doyen of the entire conference, earning respect and honour from all quarters.

Indeed, Hajia Bilqis Abdul’s presence and performance at this global platform have added immense value to Kogi State’s international image, proving that with visionary leadership and effective representation, a state can transcend borders and command global relevance.
