It was a historic homecoming on Saturday, September 6, 2025, as Hon. Engr. Dr. Aderemi Oseni, President of the Remi Oseni Committee of Friends (ROCOF), addressed a massive crowd of over 10,000 supporters at the ROCOF Local Government Assembly in Ido.
Oseni, who represents Ido/Ibarapa East Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, declared that ROCOF has become a movement of hope and transformation, rapidly expanding across Oyo State and beyond.
“ROCOF is no longer a dream—it is a force”
Barely two months after its inauguration in Ibadan, the lawmaker announced that the group has registered over 265,000 members across the state, with a target of half a million by December. He described the growth as “evidence that the people of Oyo State are hungry for change and thirsty for hope.”
“From Ibadan to Eruwa, from Lanlate to Ibarapa, and now in Ido, the ROCOF flame is spreading like wildfire,” he told the cheering crowd.
A Homecoming of Destiny
For Oseni, the Ido gathering carried special significance. “This is my home, my root, my foundation. This land nurtured me and gave me the mandate to serve in Abuja,” he said, recalling how the people of Ido and Ibarapa East defied the odds to deliver him victory in the 2023 elections.
He reassured his constituents that their support was not in vain. “I have worked, I am still working, and I will continue to work. From infrastructure to education, from artisans’ empowerment to seed capital for traders, your voices are being heard in Abuja.”
Six-Point Agenda for Change
Reiterating the ROCOF Six-Point Vision, Oseni outlined the group’s mission to:
- Deliver Oyo State for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.
- Return the All Progressives Congress (APC) to power in Oyo State.
- Empower members with opportunities to contest elective offices.
- Liberate marginalized politicians and expand political inclusion.
- Support women, market men, and market women with empowerment programmes.
- Empower youths through education, skills, and leadership platforms.
He praised President Tinubu’s reforms, noting progress in food security, education funding, SME financing, and security. “By God’s grace and our collective effort, President Tinubu’s return in 2027 is sure,” Oseni declared.
N50 Million for Traders and Women Empowerment
In a major highlight, the federal lawmaker announced a ₦50 million empowerment fund for women and traders in Ido/Ibarapa East. The funds, he said, would help expand small businesses, start new ones, and sustain families.
“My heart bleeds when I see people go hungry. Empowerment is not luxury—it is survival,” he said.
He also revealed plans to launch the Remi Asoludero Food Bank and a Subsidized Market Scheme next month to provide affordable food and support for vulnerable households.
Youth Scholarships and Education Drive
Addressing the youths, Oseni pledged continued investment in education. Having previously sponsored WAEC and JAMB forms, he unveiled the ROCOF University Scholarship Scheme—promising free tuition for students who score at least five distinctions and secure admission into higher institutions.
“Youths are not thugs, nor beggars—they are leaders. Education is the bedrock of progress, and we will not relent until our youths are fully empowered,” he said.
Oseni closed his address with a rallying cry for unity, resilience, and mobilization ahead of 2027. “ROCOF must become a household name in every ward, every community, every home. Together, we shall deliver Tinubu in 2027, return APC to Agodi, empower women, educate youths, and feed the hungry. Together, we rise. Together, we win.”
