Ghana has rolled out the red carpet for tourism investment with the launch of the Ghana Tourism Investment Platform (GTiP), a pioneering digital platform designed to connect potential investors with lucrative opportunities within the country’s vibrant and growing tourism sector.

Recently deployed, the GTiP promises to streamline the investment process, providing a comprehensive overview of investment prospects and fostering sustainable tourism development.

The platform, spearheaded by the Ghana Tourism Development Company (GTA), aims to attract both domestic and international investors by offering a curated collection of investment-ready projects across Ghana’s diverse tourism industry landscape. From luxury hotels and eco-lodges to cultural heritage sites and adventure tourism offerings, the GTiP showcases a wide range of potential ventures, providing investors with crucial information to make informed decisions.

Affirming the significance of GTiP, Ghana Tourism Development Company’s CEO, Prof. Kobby Mensah, said, “We’re building what we call the Ghana Tourism Marketplace and Ghana Tourism Investment Platform. These are digital spaces that can actually help us uplift the entire space, promising a turnaround in the shortest possible time.”

Ghana’s tourism sector is poised for significant growth, and the GTiP is a vital tool to facilitate this expansion.

The platform streamlines the investment process, offering investors a clear understanding of the available opportunities and the potential for high returns. Hence, it is expected to foster a more vibrant and sustainable tourism ecosystem, creating jobs and boosting economic growth.

Key features of the GTiP

Investment Project Profiles: Detailed descriptions of potential projects, including feasibility studies, financial projections, and required regulatory approvals.

Sector-Specific Information: Comprehensive data and analysis of key tourism segments, such as hospitality, transportation, ecotourism, and cultural tourism.

Regulatory Guidance: Clear and concise information on investment regulations, permits, and incentives available to investors.

Networking Opportunities: A built-in directory connecting investors with relevant stakeholders, including government agencies, local communities, and experienced professionals.

Project Selection Tools: Sophisticated filtering and search options to help investors identify projects that align with their specific investment criteria.

GTiP and Ghana’s strategic plan to diversify its economy

The GTiP is a crucial step in Ghana’s strategic plan to diversify its economy and capitalise on the growing global demand for unique and authentic travel experiences. The platform highlights Ghana’s rich cultural heritage, stunning natural beauty, and commitment to sustainable tourism practices, making it an attractive destination for investors seeking both financial returns and positive social impact.

The GTiP’s launch is a testament to the Ghana Tourism Authority’s commitment to creating an environment that enables tourism investment. Stakeholders in the Ghana Tourism industry are confident that it will play a pivotal role in unlocking the vast potential of the sector.

The launch of the GTiP has been met with enthusiasm from industry stakeholders and potential investors.

The GTDC encourages potential investors to explore the platform and discover the exciting opportunities that await them in the “Gateway to Africa.”

The GTDC anticipates that this platform will be a catalyst for future growth, contributing to Ghana’s economic development while fostering a positive and sustainable tourism experience for visitors.
