Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ogbomoso on Monday held a massive rally to reaffirm their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and intensify mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections, declaring their resolve to reclaim Oyo State from the opposition.

The open-air rally, held at the Soun Ogunlola Hall, Oja’gbo, Ogbomoso, attracted a wide spectrum of party leaders, elected officials, former office holders and grassroots mobilisers, signalling renewed unity and strategic alignment within the APC in the Ogbomoso zone.

The mobilisation was facilitated by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors team led by Senator Teslim Folarin, with party stakeholders indicating plans to tour the seven geopolitical zones and fourteen federal constituencies in Oyo State to galvanise grassroots support for President Tinubu and the APC ahead of the 2027 polls.

Among those in attendance were Senators Sarafadeen Alli, Yunus Akintunde, Ayoade Adeseun and Abdulfatai Buhari; Hon. Sunday Dare; Hon. Remi Oseni; Hon. Akeem Adeyemi; Mrs Florence Ajimobi; Barrister Iyiola Oladokun; and members of the party executive led by the Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass. Also present were former and aspiring governorship candidates, including Chief Adebayo Adelabu and Prince Kayode Oyewumi (Bayewuwon).

Other prominent stakeholders included retired General and Senator Braimoh Yusuf; former Speaker of the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Asimiyu Alarape; Engineer Dayo Lawal; Engineer Idris Adeoye; Chief Sunday Adegoke (Maigida); Professor Ralph Afonja; Hon. Ayanlowo Ogun-Osun; Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi (Bunvic); Hon. In his welcome address, Hon. Segun Dokun Odebunmi described Ogbomoso as a traditional stronghold of the APC, assuring party faithful that the zone was fully mobilised to deliver overwhelming support for the party in future elections.
“Ogbomoso will deliver massively for the APC,” Odebunmi declared, adding that stakeholders in the area were solidly behind President Tinubu and his Renewed Hope Agenda.

In his opening remarks, the Oyo State APC Chairman, Alhaji Olayide Abass, commended the resilience, loyalty and organisational strength of party members in Ogbomoso, noting that their commitment was crucial to the party’s determination to reclaim Oyo State.

He urged members to remain united and focused, stressing the need to strengthen grassroots structures across the state ahead of upcoming political contests.
Delivering the keynote address, Senator Teslim Folarin charged party members to take the message of the Renewed Hope Agenda to the grassroots, saying informed party members must educate others on the quality of leadership being offered by President Tinubu.

“Our mission here today is to tell the whole world that APC in Oyo State is fully ready to key into the Renewed Hope Agenda. The spirit of love and togetherness prevailing in our party will be sustained. At the appropriate time, we will move to the nooks and crannies of the state to mobilise voters, and 2027 will be a total victory for the APC,” Folarin said.

Speaking in the same vein, former Oyo State First Lady and Ambassador-designate, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, enjoined party members to promote unity and peace, describing the APC as the only formidable political party in the state.

She assured that the current atmosphere of harmony within the party would be nurtured and sustained, as all key stakeholders had agreed to work together for the re-election of President Tinubu and the return of the APC to the Agodi Government House in 2027.

Also speaking, former Oyo State APC Chairman, Chief Akin Oke, charged party leaders in Ogbomoso to work together as a united front, stressing that eight years in opposition was long enough.

“We must work as a team. Eight years in opposition is enough; we must return to the Government House in Oyo State,” he said.

Senator Ayoade Adeseun, in his remarks, assured party supporters that Ogbomoso would vote massively for the APC in the 2027 elections.

The high point of the rally was the formal endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term in office and the reception of hundreds of defectors from other political parties into the APC. The defectors were drawn from Ogbomoso North, Ogbomoso South, Oriire, Ogo-Oluwa and Surulere local government areas.

The rally ended with renewed calls for unity, sustained mobilisation and strategic grassroots engagement as the APC positions itself to challenge for power and reclaim Oyo State in 2027.
