Following a court ruling regarding the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) November 2025 National Convention, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide has called for internal reconciliation and political stability across Oyo State.

The lawmaker, who represents the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, emphasised that the judiciary’s involvement should be viewed as a catalyst for strengthening democratic processes rather than a source of division.

Speaking after the congregational Jumat prayer at the Alhaja Hamdalah Jadesola Sunmonu Central Mosque in Oyo town, Hon. Olajide addressed the implications of the day’s court judgement. He maintained that legal challenges are an integral part of a healthy democracy.

“Democracy thrives on lawful processes. Whatever the outcome of legal engagements, what is important is that we move forward stronger and more united. Better days lie ahead for the PDP,” Olajide stated.

The Federal Lawmaker urged party faithful to “close ranks,” stressing that the party’s future electoral success and governance efficacy depend entirely on structural cohesion at all levels.

In a move highlighting the importance of mentorship in Nigerian politics, Hon. Olajide paid a courtesy visit to Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, a prominent member of the Oyo State Governor’s Advisory Council.

Olajide praised the Senator for her “uncommon leadership,” noting that her experience serves as a stabilizing force for the next generation of political actors.

“Distinguished Senator Monsurat Sunmonu represents stability and wisdom in our political landscape. Her contributions to democratic growth in Oyo state remain invaluable,” he said.

Beyond party politics, the lawmaker redirected public focus toward the broader developmental goals of the state. He called on the residents of Oyo town to maintain their unwavering support for Governor Seyi Makinde, citing the administration’s success in: infrastructural renewal, institutional Reforms, and inclusive development: ensuring dividends reach both urban centers and rural communities.

Olajide then reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring that the legislative efforts at the federal level align with the state’s progress.

“Our people deserve meaningful development, improved infrastructure and expanded opportunities. We remain committed to ensuring that Oyo town benefits fully from ongoing governance initiatives at both state and federal levels,” Olajide concluded.
