In a significant step towards promoting tourism in Katsina State and Nigeria as a whole, the Executive Director/CEO of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau, Dr. Kabir Ali Masanawa, paid a courtesy visit to the Nigerian Tourism Development Authority (NTDA).
The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration and explore opportunities for deeper partnership in showcasing Katsina State’s rich cultural heritage and tourism potential.
Fostering Partnership
During the meeting, Dr. Masanawa expressed his gratitude to the Director overseeing the office of the DG, Mr. Richard Ovie Esewhaye, for the warm reception and formally announced his recent appointment as CEO of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau. He emphasised the need for a deeper working partnership between the Bureau and NTDA to place Katsina firmly on the tourism map.
NTDA commends Katsina Governor
Mr. Esewhaye commended the Governor of Katsina State, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, for appointing Dr. Masanawa as the Executive Director of the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau, describing the appointment as “a round peg in a round hole.”
He acknowledged Dr. Masanawa’s passion for tourism, particularly through his leadership in the bikers’ association, which has spotlighted destinations across the nation.
Esewhaye reiterated NTDA’s commitment to working closely with the Katsina State History and Culture Bureau to promote tourism not only in Katsina but across Nigeria. Both parties expressed optimism for a fruitful and enduring partnership in advancing tourism development in the country.
