The Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) candidate for Oyo South senatorial district, Hon. Adedeji Dhikrullahi Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo), has deployed a fleet of 20 branded vehicles to launch a grassroots awareness campaign across the region.
The public enlightenment initiative, which officially commenced over the weekend, covers all nine local government areas within the senatorial district. According to campaign officials, the mobile fleet is equipped with public address systems designed to strengthen public engagement, boost voter registration awareness, and outline the lawmaker’s legislative platform for effective representation ahead of the 2027 general election.
The mobile units have begun traversing major transit routes, traditional markets, residential neighborhoods, and rural villages across the district. The deployment is structured to deliver the “Odidiomo for Senate” campaign message directly to constituents at the community level.
Candidate Outlines Legislative Focus Areas
Speaking at the launch event, Olajide stated that the vehicle deployment aims to facilitate direct interaction with residents and address local developmental challenges rather than solely serving as a mechanism for electoral mobilisation.
He noted that every community requires direct access to legislative plans concerning regional intervention and inclusive development.
“Our vision is focused on community development. We are taking our message directly to the people because democracy thrives when leaders remain accessible, accountable and connected to those they seek to represent,” he said.
Campaign Scope Expanded Across Nine Local Government Areas
Olajide, who currently represents the Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West federal constituency in the House of Representatives, stated that the enlightenment drive will maintain a presence in both the urban and rural sectors of the Oyo South senatorial district. Beyond candidate advocacy, the mobile platforms are tasked with providing public civic education regarding the importance of political participation, voter registration verification, and orderly conduct during electoral periods.
Olajide stated that his aspiration is premised on a clear agenda centred on youth empowerment, digital innovation, quality education, infrastructure development, economic inclusion, agricultural support, improved healthcare delivery and expanded employment opportunities.
He added that the mobile enlightenment drive would highlight his legislative achievements in the House of Representatives, particularly in the areas of education, digital inclusion, human capital development, constituency projects and youth empowerment interventions.
As chairman of the House Committee on Digital, Information Communication Technology and Cybersecurity, Olajide said technology and innovation would remain central to his development agenda for Oyo south senatorial district.
Regional Party Formations Respond to Rollout
The deployment drew attendance from regional party executives and local organising committees. Party leaders and supporters who witnessed the rollout of the campaign vehicles described the initiative as a demonstration of Olajide’s grassroots approach to politics and his determination to maintain close contact with constituents across the district.
They expressed confidence that the extensive awareness campaign would further reinforce the party’s presence and broaden public support across the nooks and crannies of Oyo south senatorial district ahead of the 2027 general election.
The fleet is scheduled to maintain regular operational circuits through all nine local government areas to sustain constituent communication leading up to the scheduled election timelines.
