THE Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Nigerian Tribune chapel, has honoured a former Oyo State NUJ Chairman, Comrade Wale Ojo-Lanre for his contributions towards the development of the union in the past.
The Tribune NUJ Chairman, Comrade Tunde Busari, disclosed that the award was in continuation of the 2018 Tribune NUJ Week.
“If we can honour outsiders while not some of us who have made us and still making us proud, hence we consider the President of Guild of Tourism Journalists in Nigeria, Wale Ojo-Lanre apt for this honour,” Busari said.
Reeling out what he described as the legacy of Wale Ojo-Lanre, Comrade Busari said “Who Ojo-Lanre was Secretary, NUJ Tribune Chapel; two-term Chairman NUJ Tribune Chapel; two-term Chairman NUJ Oyo State Council; a National NUJ Abuja Accountability Award Recipient; a former CPS to Governor of Ekiti State; Tourism Ambassador for two countries in Nigeria.”

He added that Ojo-Lanre is also an Associate Editor, Travel and Tourism, Nigerian Tribune; former President, Lead City University, Ibadan Law Students’ Association, and an agrarian Union leader.”
Ojo-Lanre in his response described Journalism as a noble profession while charging Nigerian journalists to continue to uphold the tenets and ethics of the profession.
