NOT fewer than one thousand children were in attendance for Kiddifest, a socio-cultural event organized by Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture as part of activities marking 2019 edition of Ekiti State Festival of Arts and Culture (EKIFEST).

The event features talent hunt, traditional dance competition, and lecture on preservation and promotion of Yoruba culture and tradition.

In his opening remark, Amb Wale Ojo-Lanre, Director-General, Ekiti State Council for Arts and Culture, said the event as one of the ways through which the council is promoting and sensitizing the younger ones on the role of culture in the society

Ojo-Lanre said, “we need to make the younger ones understand the import of our culture so that they won’t lose or place foreign culture above theirs.”

The DG who spoke in Ekiti dialect said Governor Fayemi and his wife are passionate about the promotion of culture because they see it as a tool for propagating moral virtues in the younger ones.
