Africa Tourism Partners has opened the registration portal for the 7th Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards (ATLF), slated to be held between 3rd and 6th September 2024 in Gaborone, Botswana.
“The African travel and tourism industry is poised for a breakout moment, fuelled by the surge in intra-African travel. Imagine a continent where borders are more open, diverse cultures are celebrated, and travel experiences are seamlessly connected. This is the future we’re building at the 7th Annual ATLF, and we invite you to be a part of it,” the organisers said.
The prestigious Africa Tourism Leadership Forum and Awards recognise and celebrate the best in African travel, tourism, hospitality, and aviation. It’s the only pan-African industry award programme, honouring innovation and change-makers across the continent.
Participants at the ATLF 2024 are assured of a networking opportunity with over 600 travel shapers – ministers, CEOs, and leaders – at the Investment & Innovation Hub. They would also learn winning strategies, discover funding, and celebrate industry excellence at the promising 7th ATLF.
While noting that awardees’ nomination at the historic event is also open, Africa Tourism Partners listed qualified individuals and businesses for nomination. They include individuals, small businesses, destinations, and organisations; businesses showcasing sustainable practices and leadership and entrepreneurs with innovative ideas and measurable results.
The award categories according to the organisers of the ATLF include:Â Leading in Progressive Policies;Â Most Innovative Business Tourism Destination; Outstanding Entrepreneurship; Outstanding Africa Tourism Media & Marketing; Outstanding Accommodation Facility/Group; Women in Leadership; Outstanding Tourism Transportation; Championing Sustainability; and Destination Africa (Lifetime Award).
The organisers charged participants and stakeholders in the African tourism industry to “nominate a deserving leader, and be part of recognising Africa’s tourism heroes.”
REPORTERS AT LARGE recalls that the ATLF 2023 was officially opened His Honour, the Vice President of the Republic of Botswana, Mr Slumber Tsogwane; UNWTO Secretary-General Zurab Pololikashvili; the Minister of Environment and Tourism, Hon. Philda Nani Kereng, and H.E. Elias Mpedi Magosi, SADC Executive Secretary. The Forum was attended by Pan-African and globally renowned travel and tourism industry thought leaders, policymakers, investors, and key stakeholders, with over 700 physical and over 1,200 virtual delegates from over 42 countries in attendance.
