Elon Musk announced the global launch of the Tesla Semi truck, despite ongoing doubts about its 500-mile range and autonomous features.

“Tesla Semi will be available worldwide,” Musk posted on social media platform X.

Recent third-party tests, including one with DHL, are starting to confirm Tesla’s claims. These tests are important for building trust in the truck’s autonomous technology.

Initially set for production in 2019, the Tesla Semi program faced delays, but volume production is now planned. Tesla is expanding its factory in Nevada to ramp up production, aiming for 50,000 trucks annually by 2025.

The Tesla Semi impresses with: Three electric motors for enormous power, Range of 800 kilometers with a full load, and Triple the power compared to conventional diesel trucks.

These specifications were recently confirmed in a practical test by DHL, with the Semi even exceeding expectations.

Successful practical tests convince

The logistics group DHL subjected the Tesla Semi to an extensive test and was impressed: EfficiencyAverage consumption of 1.07 kWh per kilometer, Speed: Efficiency values achieved at over 80 km/h, and Positive feedback from drivers and logistics experts.

These results strengthen confidence in the performance of the Tesla Semi.

Production to be massively increased

Tesla plans to significantly increase production of the Semi by 2025 with Target Produce up to 50,000 units per year, New production facility: Expansion of the Gigafactory in Nevada, and Possible production in EuropeGrünheide near Berlin as a potential location.

These steps demonstrate Tesla’s commitment to meeting the demand for electric commercial vehicles worldwide.

Elon Musk Tesla Semi Truck: Challenges in the long-haul segment

Despite the positive news, there are still doubts on Range: Skepticism as to whether 800 km can be achieved under real conditions; Infrastructure: Need for charging stations for heavy commercial vehicles, and Competition: Other manufacturers are also working on electric trucks.

It remains exciting to see how Tesla will master these challenges.
