The Friday congregation at Felele Central Mosque in Ibadan turned into a moment of celebration today as Hon Adedeji Olajide (Odidiomo) joined worshippers for Jumat prayers.

The prominent lawmaker and Oyo South senatorial candidate of the Allied Peoples’ Movement (APM) made an immediate donation of ₦5 million to the Central Mosque to support the upkeep and infrastructure of the worship centre. Shortly after the Jumat prayer ended, the mosque leadership formally accepted the financial gift. Odidiomo spoke to the congregation about his firm belief in supporting faith organisations. He noted that places of worship play a vital role in building unity and maintaining moral standards.

Speaking directly to the assembly, the lawmaker urged all Muslims to keep praying for peace, safety, and economic success across Oyo State and the nation. He also challenged fellow politicians to stay mindful of the duties attached to public office. He said, “The country’s challenges require leaders to remain connected to the people and responsive to genuine community needs.”

He explained that worship centres serve as essential gathering places where citizens learn good values and unite for peace. He assured the audience that he would keep backing projects that bring real advantages to citizens across the region.

Impact of the Felele Central Mosque Donation

According to the federal representative, the ₦5 million intervention addresses urgent physical needs at the facility. He noted a strong personal preference for hands-on support that directly improves daily life for residents.

Furthermore, the lawmaker stressed that public service must go beyond political campaigns. In his view, elected officials must take part in the daily social and economic progress of their neighbourhoods. Genuine leadership requires consistent care for the well-being of ordinary citizens every single day.

Ambitions of the Oyo South Senatorial Candidate

Looking ahead to future political contests, the Oyo South senatorial candidate reaffirmed his focus on grassroots development. He urged the people of Ibadan to remain united and keep supporting initiatives that drive real progress across the entire district.

Odidiomo believes that constant community engagement creates stronger trust between leaders and voters. His visit to Felele forms part of a broader effort to stay close to constituents across every local neighbourhood.

Representation for Ibadan North-West Federal Constituency

Representing the Ibadan North-West federal constituency (alongside Ibadan South-West) in the House of Representatives, Odidiomo has built a reputation for accessible leadership. His recent actions demonstrate a clear preference for practical action over empty political speeches.

Community elders at the mosque thanked the lawmaker for standing with the congregation during their time of need. They highlighted that his prompt financial gift shows a sincere relationship with the public that goes far beyond election periods.
