Raheem Akeem Adepoju has emerged as the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for the Oorelope Local Government chairmanship election, in Oyo State.
Raheem emerged winner following a primary exercise between him and the incumbent Caretaker Chairman of the Local Government, Mr Adesola Yaqub.
It would be recalled that party members loyal to Raheem had clinched 22 out of 30 ad-hoc delegates slots in a free and fair ad-hoc delegates election held last week.
While speaking, one of the leaders of the PDP in the Local Government, Alhaji Yakubu Oladoja, described Raheem’s emergence as a victory for party supremacy.
An elated local government party chairman, Hon. Azeez Adeoti, also commended the perseverance of PDP members in Oorelope Local Government, stating that the people’s will has eventually triumphed through Raheem’s victory.
