The students abducted from Government Science College, Kagara, Niger State, have been freed by their abductors.

According to Channels TV, a government official who spoke anonymously confirmed the release of students.

Reporters At Large had reported that a total of 27 students, three staff members, and 12 members of their family were abducted by the bandits who were dressed in military uniforms after the attack on the Kagara school in the early hours of Wednesday, February 17, 2021.

Niger State Governor, Abubakar Bello, had ordered the immediate closure of all boarding schools in the bandit-ravaged areas.

Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, had said that the government would not pay ransom to secure the release of the abductees.
